Wolverton Mountain Gun Club |
|
The Wolverton Mountain Gun Club – WMGC – is a non-profit, wholly member-owned private gun club located at 243 Williams Road in Ariel Washington. Just a few hundred feet off Washington State Route 503, the WMGC offers its members and guests pistol, rifle, shotgun and archery ranges. Although the Club is privately owned, it is opened to the general public on the second Sunday of every month. In addition to members and their guest using the Club facilities for their favorite individual shooting sports, they can participate in organized groups such as Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) – more commonly known as “Cowboy Action Shooters” and International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC). Periodically, Trap Shoots and Pin Shoots are also offered for those who enjoy some friendly competition. WMGC hosts the Hunters’ Education Range Days so first time hunters can obtain their State of Washington Hunter Certification. Other educational programs such as the NRA’s Refuse to be a Victim and Boy Scouts of America’s Rifle Shooting, Shotgun Shooting and Archery Merit Badges are supported by the Club. WMGC hosts Youth Shooting Programs including NRA Junior Program, 4-H and Youth Hunter Education Challenge (YHEC) and Boy Scouts. Several Police Departments use the Club Facilities to sharpen their skills. Finally, the WMGC grounds offer a breath taking view of the Southwest face of the famous Mount St. Helens.
